EDUCATION AND TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Dr. Kalb received her BA at Barnard College, Columbia University and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Adelphi University’s Derner Institute. She graduated with honors from both. Dr. Kalb was a Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NY and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at University of California, Davis – School of Medicine. As a clinical faculty member, Dr. Kalb supervised and taught medical students, psychology graduate interns and psychiatry residents in inpatient psychiatric settings. She has provided supervision to trainees and to other licensed therapists in the Bay Area. Dr. Kalb conducts creativity seminars for fellow professionals and for the public.
Dr. Kalb has been in private practice for over twenty years. She works with adolescents, adults, couples and families, providing short term, solution oriented therapy as well as longer term work aimed at resolving inner conflicts.
With extensive training and experience in several theories, Dr. Kalb draws from a deep toolbox when working with clients. She has a down to earth, collaborative style. In crafting a treatment plan tailored to meet your individual needs, she’ll use empathy, insight, humor and her fundamental conviction that all of us share an instinct towards growth and development.
